The mighty Warhorse Regiment Marching Band is our most visual ensemble. Each year, we craft a new show based on a theme. Through popular music, props, backdrops, marching drill, and choreography, we tell a powerful story. The Regiment proudly represents Owen High School through a wide variety of performances, including:
Halftime show for Friday night football games
Marching band competitions
Holiday and Christmas parades
Pep rallies
The marching band is made up of 5 families.
Drum major (conductor)
Winds (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, baritone, mellophone, sousaphone)
Drumline (marching snare, tenor, bass)
Front ensemble (keyboards, mallets, auxiliary percussion)
Color guard (flags, sabres, rifles, props)

The traditional band experience is offered through our Symphonic and Concert bands These ensembles perform 4 concerts each year, and attend the MPA (Music Performance Adjudication) festival.
The jazz band performs a very important collection of American music not typically found in our other ensembles. This includes, but is not limited to: swing, bebop, Latin & bossa nova, and jazz fusion. Our jazz combo meets throughout the week to play for fun and learn improvisational skills, and makes appearances on our concerts.
This ensemble is extra-curricular and meets after school. We sit down each semester and build our rehearsal schedule together to work around our students' busy lives! Our Indoor Program is one of a kind! As the name implies, this ensemble is similar to marching band, but rehearses indoors, consisting only of percussion and guard. All experience levels are welcome (even NO experience!). Throughout the winter and spring, this program blends dance, music, and storytelling to create a competitive show.
